Germany, Wehrmacht. An Eastern People’s Medal, I Class With Swords, Gold Grade Newly Listed 1869-1914 issued(Tapferkeits und Verdienstauszeichnung fr Ostvlker 1. Klasse Gold mit Schwertern). Instituted 14 July 1942. (1942 1945 issue). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an eight pointed radiant star overlaid by crossed swords, with a central six petalled rosette, set within a circular laurel leaf wreath with a ribbed border, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked, measuring 49. 78
